Hoag's $1.2 Billion Irvine Expansion Opens This Month: Hoag is preparing to open four new clinical buildings at its Irvine campus this month, completing the $1.2 billion Sun Family Campus, the largest expansion in Hoag's history. The new facilities will add 155 inpatient beds, 11 operating rooms and 120,000 square feet of outpatient space focused on women's health, cancer and digestive care. The expansion is also expected to add roughly 1,000 jobs, with a public grand opening scheduled for September 19 and 20.
Newport Beach Makes Neighborhood Street Cameras Permanent: Newport Beach has made permanent a pilot program allowing homeowners associations to install security cameras along public streets. The program currently includes 25 cameras across five neighborhoods, with participating HOAs responsible for purchasing and maintaining the equipment. The cameras can be used to help investigate crimes while operating under city privacy and data retention requirements.
Pelican Hill Begins Its St. Regis Era: The Resort at Pelican Hill is continuing its transition into a St. Regis Estate, and some of the first changes are now arriving. The Newport Coast resort debuted the brand's signature afternoon tea experience this week as renovations and new programming continue across the property. The transformation will ultimately bring the 504 acre resort under the St. Regis flag while retaining Pelican Hill's golf courses, villas and signature coastal setting.
San Juan Capistrano Approves New Senior Housing: San Juan Capistrano has approved a new 50 residence senior housing community on Don Juan Avenue. The three story development will be reserved for residents 55 and older and will include 50 parking spaces. The project adds another housing option specifically designed for older residents who want to remain in the community as their housing needs change.
